Boxed INDIA, merchant’s handstamp. and datestamps of Calcutta (3 Jul) and London (15 Aug). Letters from India to Russia are rare. Part of the Heinrich Schliemann correspondence; Schliemann was a St. Petersburg-based merchant and later credited as the finder of the city of Troy.
