The Philip H. Ward Philatelic Library in Three Parts
The Philip H. Ward Philatelic Library in Three Parts – Auction Catalog
Philip Ward was not only an important collector of classic US and world stamps, he was also a dealer and philatelic journalist. These are the Scarce Auction Catalogs of his Philatelic Library. The library was so extensive that the sale took place in three parts: Part I on 27 November 1965, Part II on 18 June 1966 and Part III on 24 Aug 1967. An average of around 800 lots per sale. Some India related books and journals too. The most famous philatelic literature auctioneer of all time – Sylvester Colby – undertook the three sales.
Bound in card covers and in fine condition except for some staining especially on the covers and some pages of Part II. The insides are free of any markings or writings. Photocopy of prices realised for all three sales included.
